SFO: Arrival

A view of Greenland from the plane

Our flight was very early in the morning, so early that we didn't even go to sleep before leaving. A reserved taxi came and picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. It turned out we were quite in advance, and had to wait just to check in. After that it was just a whole lotta of waiting until finally we boarded on the plane to Amsterdam and arrived. From there we had a little bit of a scare. We thought we had missed our flight, but it turned out we had to wait for ages in an unconditioned room packed with people after passing a security check.
We passed over Greenland and arrived safe and sound, with all our baggage, no problems. We took a taxi ride to the hotel and from there I caught a glimpse of what San Francisco is like. It seems to be a strangely beautiful city, with an odd balance between nature and industry. Hillsides and factories right beside each other in the outskirts, and trees almost in the same numbers as parked cars. We arrived at the hotel and went to the shopping center right next to it. We didn't stay long, the jet-lag taking its toll. We went back to the hotel and fell asleep at six in the evening.
